My Sidewalk Play List

I've recently realized that I spend more time with my headphones in walking around the city then I do on my phone! No wonder I constantly have songs stuck in my head. Just a peak at some of the songs currently playing in my head....

2 Katy Perry: Waking Up in Vegas
3 Crystal Castle: Crimewave
4 TV on the Radio: Dancing Choose
5 The Strokes: Whatever Happened
6 The Duke Spirit: My Sunken Treasure
7 Aerosmith: Cryin
8 Peter Bjorn & John: Nothing to Worry About
9 Carolina Liar: Show Me What I'm Looking For
10 Latch Key Kid: Good Times

Monday FUNday

For the last month and half I have been spending my Mondays with 3 friends (crowd always varies) sitting at a coffee shop telling stories, laughing, coming up with incredible adventures...Our activities and imaginations are never limited. Today's fun was a little different. Instead of sitting inside we took advantage of a gorgeous day. We piled into a CAR and took a field trip an hour north of the city to a little town called Cold Spring, NY. The town is adorably quaint. We played in the grass, gazed at mountains, threw Frisbee, had some AMAZING food, and shopped at the antique stores that house decades of fabulously undiscovered treasures and gems. I wish I would have taken pictures of everything that I'm anxious to decorate my apartment and wardrobe with, but now more reason for you to check it out yourself!

I did however score this adorable cameo at one antique store called Bijou. The woman that helped me was Jane and the cutest human being ever! We briefly discussed my love/obsession for all things cameo and she invited me (and my 3 friends!) to come back for the antique festival that will support 60+ vendors/sellers,etc. You better believe that I'm taking the train back there. Too much of a good thing to pass up. I know I'll be kicking myself tomorrow for not purchasing the white enamel beaded gloves or the white leather gloves with embroidered cuff. The brooch would have looked so adorable at the wrist!

Better luck next time!

Rih-ON-again

It's been a couple of months since we've really seen Rihanna glammed up and out and about in all of her gloriousness. But man, when the girl comes back she really brings it. Once again she has me almost speechless. I'm in love with her white Derek Lam suit and deep red lips. And again her hair, I think I have a daily struggle deciding on cutting my hair short like Riri's or still trying to grow it out.

Styling: Die Trying

For the last month I have been soul searching...trying to figure out what I'm truly passionate about, what my next move will be, and how to get there. Two weeks ago I helped a friend out at her photo shoot and had the best time. Today another friend asked me to help create a few looks for an upcoming shoot for a modeling portfolio.

......Duh styling! The answer is so easy and right there in front of me. Styling is one of the main reasons I moved to New York, granted I got a little side tracked by a great opportunity in a sales position. I'm slowly starting to build a portfolio and networking my butt off. I'm determined to make it happen and will...

South by Southwest

Last week I spent five days back in San Antonio enjoying family time with my sister and nephew who were in town visiting from S. Lake Tahoe, CA. Most of my time was spent lounging around the house with nephew and dog in tow, feasting on Tex-Mex, and collecting inspiration for an updated wardrobe project. Unfortunately for me, my visit was at the tail end of Fiesta and weeks after SXSW, but I left my five day sabbatical with clouds of new ideas and a resurrected muse for all things Southwestern!

Cowboy boots with illustrations inspired by el dia de los muertos (day of the dead)

Roberto Cavalli Suede Fringe Vest. I'm still trying to figure out how I can afford this vest to wear with a white tank top, cuffed boyfriend jeans, and cognac Frye wedges. HELLO SUMMER!
This reminds me of the cerulean western inspired belt from The Devil Wears Prada. I can only begin to coordinate and fashion looks in my closet incorporate this belt with. Western inspired belt? YES PLEASE!

Hope you find some pieces that channel south of the border to piggyback your wardrobe!
